This is my latest project, an ebony claymore. The only things not ebony are the crossguard (hard maple) and the pegs. I stained the crossguard with ebony stain and simply oiled the rest with tung oil. The handle is simply wrapped with leather. On the crossguard you can see I carved in a few designs and painted silver into them.
Just a note....unless you're serious about the sword you're making....don't even think of buying ebony. I got the cheapest variety and it cost me about $150 CAN.
